The majority of the library's online resources are available 24/7 for members of the Hood community.

When you attempt to access a library resource from an off-campus location, you will be prompted to enter your library barcode.

Enter the number on the barcode sticker that is on the back of your Hood College ID. Entering this number will authenticate you as a member of the Hood College community and will allow you access to the library's electronic resources. Be sure to enter all of the numbers, with no spaces.

If you do not have a barcode sticker on the back of your Hood ID, please visit or contact the Circulation Desk at (301) 696-3709 during regular library hours to obtain one.

If you are at work and clicking the database link leads to an error message ("The page you are trying to display cannot be reached"), your employer's network firewall settings are most likely blocking the connection to library resources. In that case, you can contact the IT support staff at your workplace, try using another network (e.g., home), and try using Google Scholar to begin your research in the meantime.
