In general, the library does not provide textbooks.

You may search ShaRC or Discover@Hood to find out if we have access to a book in either print or electronic format. (For a specific edition, we recommend searching by the ISBN.) Please bear in mind that, if you find a required text in the library's collection, normal borrowing periods still apply.

Faculty may place personal copies of textbooks on course reserve. This enables students to use them in the library for a few hours at a time. Check with your instructor to find out if this is a possibility.

Interlibrary loan cannot borrow textbooks from other libraries, since you would not be allowed to keep them for the entire academic term. If we don't own a textbook and your instructor does not place a copy on reserve, you will need to purchase or rent your own copy.
